Jean Thierry Monsenepwo Mototo is a Congolese statesman, Chairman of the Board of Directors of COBIL SA, Ambassador of the Innovation and Mindset Change Unit (CICM), and one of the most emblematic voices of the Union sacrée de la Nation, the presidential platform led by His Excellency Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo.
A man of conviction
Trained in political commitment alongside Lambert Mende Omalanga, of whom he was one of the closest collaborators within the Convention des Congolais Unis (CCU), Jean Thierry Monsenepwo has established himself over the years as a voice that matters in Congolese public debate. As President of the CCU Youth League, he learned early on that politics is first and foremost a service to the Nation, before being a career.
Claiming the Lumumbist heritage, he places national sovereignty, the unity of the country and the dignity of the Congolese people at the heart of his action. It is this guiding principle that led him, in January 2021, alongside his mentor, to answer President Félix Tshisekedi's call to build the Union sacrée de la Nation — a choice he embraces as "a commitment of principle to the consolidation of the State, the unity of the nation and the defense of national sovereignty."

The strategist of energy sovereignty
In June 2023, the Republic entrusted him with one of the most strategic responsibilities of the State portfolio: the chairmanship of the Board of Directors of COBIL SA, the national oil company. His appointment, signed by Portfolio Minister Adèle Kayinda, crowned a career built on loyalty, rigor and expertise.
At the head of the Board, he redefined the role of Chairman as "guarantor of institutional stability, not a decorative figure." Under his leadership, COBIL SA signed a historic partnership in Dar es Salaam in June 2024 with Scientia Capital Limited / Africa Oil guaranteeing the monthly delivery of 70,000 metric tons of fuel to the DRC, opened its first representative office in Johannesburg, and contributed to the first significant drop in fuel prices since independence, to 2,990 Congolese francs per liter.
The ambassador of mindset change
On September 6, 2024, he was appointed volunteer Ambassador of the Innovation and Mindset Change Unit (CICM), a national initiative supported by the President of the Republic. In this role, he leads the fight against corruption, impunity and tribalism, and promotes the republican, moral and ethical values essential to the emergence of the DRC by 2030.
In October 2024, the International Meeting of Decision-Makers and Opportunities (RIDOPP) awarded him the Prize for Best Chairman of a Board of Directors — a distinction he dedicated to the Head of State and the entire management team of COBIL SA.
A builder for youth
Convinced that "Congolese youth need real opportunities that transform their potential into power for action," Jean Thierry Monsenepwo founded the La Colombe cooperative, which grants loans to young project leaders, and has committed to supporting ten high-potential Congolese start-ups as well as hosting interns every quarter at COBIL SA.
