Félix Tshisekedi opens the event on the transformation of Congolese cities.
Félix Tshisekedi opened the twelfth ExpoBéton RDC in Kinshasa on 7 October 2026. The Presidency published its account the next day. The entry uses the event date.
The reported priorities connect energy, water, housing, transport and digital access with sanitation, flood and erosion risks, and maintenance. These were policy directions expressed at the event; implementation requires separate project evidence.
Kin Elenda provides earlier context. The World Bank approved $500 million on 30 March 2021 for urban management and services in Kinshasa, including water, electricity resilience, flood exposure and economic opportunities. It was not a new ExpoBéton announcement.
A second reference is Kin la Belle. On 28 April 2026 the World Bank announced $250 million for a first phase addressing waste management infrastructure, associated jobs and preparation of future investments. Programme approval does not establish that all facilities are operating.
Urban projects should consequently be assessed through the connections between their components. Housing needs services, roads form part of wider journeys and sanitation requires upkeep. These relationships supply practical criteria for examining general commitments.
The event documents priorities for urban development. Subsequent decisions on schedules, responsible bodies, funding and delivered services will determine implementation. This entry distinguishes the October policy discussion from previously approved programmes and results still to be verified.
